St. Peter

Saint Peter, also known as Simon Peter, or Peter the Apostle, was one of the Twelve Apostles, and the first leader (Pope) of the early Church, founded by Jesus Christ. According to Christian tradition, Peter was crucified in Rome under Emperor Nero.

Feast day June 29th. patron of netmakers, shipbuilders, and fishermen, and, because he holds the “keys of heaven,” he is also the patron saint of locksmiths.
